Therefore, you may have a cycle where you try and gain as much muscle as possible. Then at the end of the cycle, do another cycle where you try and lose the extra fat you gained, whilst hanging on to the muscle you gained in the first cycle. It's really hard to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time.

You do not have to ignore your favorite foods and you need not spend too much time preparing non-fat meals. Just remember that carbs are very easy to get in your diet but protein is harder to find and people don't eat enough of it. Protein also takes longer to digest meaning you will be more satisfied for longer and you will be less likely to snack between meals.
